Prime Construction & Asphalt is seeking a skilled and reliable Asphalt Laborer/Backup Roller Operator to join our crew. This hybrid role is crucial for the success of our paving projects, requiring proficiency in operating various types of asphalt rollers while also actively supporting the ground crew with general labor tasks. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of asphalt experience, a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to thrive in a demanding outdoor construction environment.

 

This hybrid role is crucial for the success of our paving projects, requiring proficiency in operating various types of asphalt rollers while also actively supporting the ground crew with general labor tasks. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of asphalt experience, a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to thrive in a demanding outdoor construction environment. This position involves assisting paving crew with all phases of asphalt work, including site preperation, shoveling, raking, and spreading hot asphalt mixture.

 

• Minimum of 1 year of verifiable experience in asphalt paving, specifically including  operating asphalt rollers . We are willing to train but starting pay will reflect relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with general asphalt laborer duties.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including standing, walking, bending, shoveling, lifting (up to 75 lbs repeatedly), and working in hot and cold weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and a reliable, punctual attendance record.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.
• Commitment to safety on the job site.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the yard in the Caldwell, ID area.
