Now Hiring: School Nurse (RN) - Next School Year Job Title: School Nurse Location: New Bern, North Carolina Employment Type: Full Time Start Date: ASAP Schedule: Monday - Friday, School Bell Schedule Position Summary: The School Registered Nurse oversees the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. The School RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students within the school setting. The School RN plays an essential role in promoting the health and safety, responding to medical emergencies, managing chronic conditions and serving as a liaison between families, school staff and healthcare providers. The School RN provides services in accordance with Amergis' philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct student care, including assessment, first aid, chronic condition management, and emergency response within the school setting Develop, implement, and monitor individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans (EAPs) in collaboration with families and school staff Administer medications and treatments safely while maintaining accurate, confidential health records in compliance with state and district policies Promote student wellness through health education, disease prevention initiatives, and support for physical, emotional, and social well-being Serve as a key member of the school's multidisciplinary team, contributing clinical expertise to support attendance, academic success, and safe learning environments Minimum Requirements: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment Bachelor's Degree, preferred School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract One year of school nursing, public health or pediatric experience, preferred Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice Current CPR if applicable TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) Must meet all federal, state and local requirements Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits: At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits and compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs Supportive school environment Looking for opportunities in other locations?
