Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Cardiothoracic Surgery

Position Type: Locum Tenens

Position Details:

Patient Population: 10 outpatient; 5-8 inpatient patients per day

Setting: Hospital and Operating Room

Responsibilities:

Assist in Surgery (First Assist)
Write Prescriptions
Rounding
Order Tests
Perform Pre-Op Physical Exams
Suture Removal
Vein Harvesting
Complete discharge summaries and documentation
Monitor therapies and medications
Chest tube removal
Pacing wire removal
Cardiac Rehab management
Nutritional and wound care management
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning
Respond to emergencies using CPR and ACLS protocols

Required Procedures:

Vein Harvesting using the Maquet System
First Assist in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Suture Removal
Chest Tube Removal
Pacing Wire Removal

EMR System: EPIC

Support Staff: Attending Cardiothoracic Surgeons

Days Per Month:

Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

On-Call/Weekends:

Night Call: Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Weekend Call: Saturday & Sunday, 24 Hours (7:00 AM - 7:00 AM)

Submission Requirements:

Indiana License
AANP Certification
Experience in Maquet Vein Harvesting
Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
Self-Query NPDB Report within 30 days of presentation
