Surgical Tech - Certified Surg Tech

Certified Surgical TechnologistFocuses on growth and technological expertise. Facilitates physician performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. Ensures quality patient care during operative procedures. Constantly monitors maintenance of the sterile field.Essential Functions:Verifies surgery to be performed with consent forms.Brings patient to assigned operating room.Passes instruments to surgeon during procedures.Anticipates surgeons' needs for additional supplies.Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to operation and before incision closes.Prepares sterile dressings and secures dressings after incision closure.Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.Obtains appropriate sterile and unsterile items needed for procedures.Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.Helps drape sterile field.Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.Assists other team members with cleaning of the room for turnover.Assists in prepping room for the next patient.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Organizational Requirements:Committed to the safety and wellbeing of associates and patients.Requires all associates to receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment. Floating to other units: Required. Weekend Coverage Required: 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks. EMR System: Cerner/Surginet Transport Team: No Unit Secretary on Unit: Based on census. Special Equipment Used on This Unit: Natus hearing screen machine, Neptune waste management system in OR, standing patient transfer device. Special Procedures Performed on This Unit: C/S Scrubs provided. Additional Information: 24/7 CRNA coverage.
