Supervisory Wildland Firefighter (Engine Captain) As a Supervisory Wildland Firefighter (Engine Captain), your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Exercises supervisory authority to regularly assigned firefighters within a fire module or crew. Applies an experienced understanding of firefighter safety, fire behavior, topography of the area weather, fuels, and training in fire management. Plans action and direct utilization of fireline resources; directs assigned suppression operations and directs assigned suppression operations. Procures, maintains, inventory tools and equipment. Supervises and directs fuels management projects that include prescribed fire, and mechanical and biological treatments. Participates in fire prevention events.
$30 - $60 per hour
