One Stop Center Manager I

Overview Agency: North Carolina Department of Commerce, Division of Workforce Solutions. Classification Title: Career Employment Services Manager I (NS). Position Number: 60079272 – Grade NC13. Location: Lenoir, NC (Caldwell County). Salary Range: $50,088 – $87,654 (based on experience and internal equity). Responsibilities Manage Center operations and ensure achievement of all identified goals and objectives. Supervise a staff of 2‑4 DWS employees. Plan, direct and review staff work using the Integrated Services Delivery (ISD) model. Coordinate integrated employment services, including job placement, training, unemployment insurance, and labor‑market information. Collaborate with workforce partners, the Workforce Development Board, economic‑development entities, public officials and employers to ensure delivery of services to all clients. Travel as required for business purposes. Maintain independent work under the oversight of the DWS Regional Operations Director for the Northwest Prosperity Zone. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and four years of experience in public or private employment‑service work, including two years in a supervisory capacity; OR an Associate degree and six years of experience including two years supervisory; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated knowledge of industrial, employment, and human‑service programs relevant to the assigned work area. Proven ability to plan, assign, direct, and review work of subordinate staff in technical and administrative roles. Experience developing staff skills and leading training in standard career‑service techniques. Strong analytical and data‑interpretation skills related to local employment and economic conditions. Leadership and change‑management skills with the capacity to establish and maintain working relationships with applicants, employers, community organizations, and the public.
