Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Infant Special Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7a-7:30p) Experience: 1 - 2 years of Level 2 Nursery experience required License: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state or holds a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse required Certifications: American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card required NRP Certification required Must-Have: BSN preferred Description: To provide nursing care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. To apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Constant interaction with internal and external customers, including patients, families, physicians, employees, and visitors. Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skill in preparing and maintaining records and writing reports. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, hospital staff, and the public. Ability to analyze situations and apply critical thinking. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Work demands include frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, and stooping. Frequent lifting/moving patients. Intermittent lifting, moving, or carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity. Constant reaching with hands/arms. Frequent talking or hearing. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range is required. Exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue. Possible exposure to infectious materials and communicable diseases common to a healthcare environment. Intermittent exposure to the risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Moderate noise level in the work area. Work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours may be required. May be required to take call and/or work weekends and holidays based on department needs.
