Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials. Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrink. Recommend deli or bakery items to customers. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines. Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise. Check product quality and review "sell by" dates. Properly use kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, etc. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping. Know store layout to locate products for customers. Stay updated on ads and product knowledge to assist customers effectively. Maintain inventory and temperature logs. Create a welcoming environment for customers. Adhere to food safety and safety procedures. Inspect equipment and report repairs needed. Report accidents to management. Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment. Manage conflicts professionally. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
