Job Overview Prevention Program Coordinator – The Markey Cancer Center Community Impact Office is recruiting a Research Advocacy Manager (Prevention Program Coordinator) to manage the Research Advocacy Program (RAP) under the Kentucky Cancer Program. Responsibilities Recruit and train an expanding group of research advocates comprised of survivors, caregivers and community-based organizations. Train researchers to collaborate with advocates, providing feedback on communicating with lay audiences. Establish and maintain partnerships between research advocates and researchers to inform cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and survivorship research. Plan meeting logistics, manage communications with advocates and researchers, and facilitate RAP meetings. Work in a hybrid arrangement with Monday‑Friday 8:00‑4:30 am, with some evenings and weekends as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (BA) required; Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Nursing or other health‑related field preferred. Minimum of 4 years of related experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge or experience with cancer research is preferred. Experience in team‑building and managing multiple priorities among researchers and patient partners is preferred. Other Requirements Physical ability to handle lightweight objects up to 10 pounds, sit for long periods, perform repetitive motion and some standing or walking.
