Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital, requiring Epic proficiency and mandatory EKG exam passage.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting with 733 staffed beds, operating as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• PCU unit with a patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Floating within the hospital or to a sister campus may be required based on facility needs
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licensure not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU or relevant RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance — no exceptions
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a maximum of 4 days allowed and only 1 holiday approval permitted per contract
• Pre-start orientation modules are required (approximately 4–10 hours)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Night shift travelers may extend up to twice before being required to leave for a minimum of 6 months prior to reapplying
