Failure to provide this information may be considered dishonesty and could affect hiring decisions. Requirements / Qualifications Knowledge of fundamental and advanced football techniques. Ability to teach, enforce, advocate, and model appropriate behavior, character traits, and educational values to student‑athletes. Familiarity with the National Federation of High Schools Coaches Code of Conduct and the California Interscholastic Federation Coaches Code of Conduct. Experience in football coaching and preference for experience working with youth athletes. High school or trade school degree preferred. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. Responsibilities Ensure academics are the priority and monitor student‑athletes’ academic performance. Develop and communicate team rules and expectations to the team and parents. Provide schedules for practices, tournaments, and games; communicate any schedule changes promptly. Attend all practices and games on time and prepared. Maintain current CPR/First Aid certificates and TB clearance. Encourage student‑athletes to perform at their best. Apply all school and team rules consistently to all student‑athletes. Conduct oneself professionally in all actions and communications. Create a positive team environment. Communicate individual roles to each student‑athlete. Clearly communicate NFHS, CIF, SDUHSD, conference, and team rules to student‑athletes and parents. Return parent phone calls/emails in a timely manner. Notify parents promptly of any injuries in absence of an athletic trainer. Explain vacation/absence policy. Allow time for student‑athletes to participate in academic responsibilities during athletic competition or tutoring. Coaches at off‑campus walk‑on sites must turn in keys to be paid. Obtain Athletic Director permission before using district facilities outside of season. Maintain CIF home and max prep results/stats. Input schedule into Arbiter, if required by sport assignor. Adhere to CIF snow‑dead period for your sport during summer.
