Assistant Project Manager – Overview The Assistant Project Manager is an entry‑level project management position and is responsible for learning and developing competency in essential duties and responsibilities. In addition, the APM provides administrative and construction support for the Project Management team. What You’ll Do Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs (Return for Information), and meeting minutes. Oversee project activities as assigned by the Project Manager, including planning, coordinating, resolving problem areas, and ensuring all company/project policies, procedures, and standards are maintained. Maintain change orders, submittal, and document (drawing) control logs; prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings. Ensure contract submittals are accurate and timely. Create and issue subcontractor contracts. Assemble and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals. Ensure that the project quality control plan is followed. Interact with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for Owner and Maintenance Manuals. Keep the Warranty Log up to date. Attend company/project meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc., and provide project management support. Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel assigned to the area of responsibility. Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress. Create the Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files. Prepare price change orders, project reports, and documentation. Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information. Other responsibilities may be assigned based on the position’s role within the business unit. What You’ll Need to Be Successful Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods required. Tactful and professional demeanor; ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others. Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills. Strong attention to detail. Demonstrated excellence in organization and time‑management skills. Ability to identify and meet customers’ expectations and requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessary. Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude. Oral and written communication skills required for the position. Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player. Effectively and professionally interact with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients. What You Bring to Us Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field. Minimum 1 year of experience in a construction‑related role. Combination of training, education, and relevant work experience that is equivalent. Travel Up to 100 % Working Conditions Position performed primarily on active construction sites; activity includes sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions: fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level typically low to medium. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
