Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused construction laborer to support a wide range of labor-intensive activities on active construction projects. This role involves performing general construction tasks, assisting skilled trades, and maintaining a safe and organized jobsite. The position requires strong physical stamina, comfort working in changing indoor and outdoor environments, and a willingness to take on a variety of duties as part of a construction crew.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction and labor-intensive tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Load, unload, carry, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Carry out work that involves prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Assist skilled tradespeople and construction crews with a variety of tasks as needed.
• Maintain clean, orderly, and well-organized work areas on the jobsite.
• Work in both indoor and outdoor environments and adapt to changing jobsite conditions.
• Perform assigned work on and around scaffolding and other elevated locations.
• Follow all jobsite safety requirements, procedures, and instructions from supervisors.
• Properly wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on the jobsite.
• Report reliably to the jobsite on time for scheduled shifts and work effectively as part of a construction crew.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform general construction labor throughout the entire shift.
• Capability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
• Ability to work at elevated locations, including on and around scaffolding.
• Strong focus on safety and adherence to jobsite safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Dependable and punctual, with the ability to reliably report to the jobsite at scheduled start times.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Comfortable performing physically demanding work on a consistent basis.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew and collaborate with others.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous construction or general labor experience is preferred.
• Experience assisting skilled trades on active construction projects is beneficial.
• Familiarity with basic construction tools, equipment, and materials is an asset.
• Possession of required PPE, including a hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility safety vest, and steel-toed work boots.
• Willingness to perform a variety of construction labor duties as needed.
• Comfort working at elevated work locations and adapting to changing jobsite conditions.

Work Environment

This role is based on active construction sites and involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions. You will perform physically demanding tasks that require prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting materials up to 50 pounds. Work frequently takes place at elevated locations, including on and around scaffolding. Workers must report to the jobsite with appropriate PPE, including a hard hat, safety glasses, a high-visibility safety vest, and steel-toed work boots; additional PPE may be required depending on specific tasks. The environment is fast-paced, safety-driven, and team-oriented, with a focus on maintaining clean and organized work areas and following all safety protocols.

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in San Diego,CA.
