Job Summary

T he Production Scheduler is responsible for translating the site's production plan into detailed, short-term manufacturing schedules that support efficient shop floor execution. This role coordinates work orders across assigned production areas, balances labor and equipment capacity, identifies and resolves scheduling constraints, and ensures materials and resources are aligned with production requirements.

 

Job Description

  • Develop detailed daily and weekly production schedules based on the site's master production plan.
  • Distribute work orders across assigned manufacturing value streams, ensuring efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and resources.
  • Monitor production capacity and proactively identify short-term labor, equipment, or material constraints.
  • Adjust schedules as needed to maintain production flow and meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisors to balance workloads and improve schedule attainment.
  • Monitor On-Time to Promise (OTP) performance and participate in root cause corrective action (RCCA) efforts to address delays and disruptions.
  • Manage order changes, rescheduling activities, and recovery plans to support both OTP and On-Time to Request (OTR) objectives.
  • Partner closely with Buyer/Planners to resolve material shortages and ensure components are available for scheduled production.
  • Respond to customer order inquiries by providing accurate production status updates and delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Scheduling, and Production teams to ensure alignment with overall production goals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, reduce bottlenecks, and increase manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through the application of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Shift: 7am - 3pm

 

Skills Required

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, or supply chain environment.
  • Experience maintaining and utilizing ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production scheduling, capacity planning, and shop floor execution.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess constraints and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Planning, Procurement, and Customer Service.

 

Education

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.

 

Pay Rate

  • $18 - $25 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
