Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care, delivering comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, along with their families or caregivers.

Shifts

• Weekend shifts: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Shift hours: 0645 to 1915

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for individuals across all stages of life.
• Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems, ensuring optimal patient care standards.
• Engage with families or significant others in the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation efforts.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as necessary.
• Provide psychological support while meeting the cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to the patient population.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in the state of Nevada (must be obtained prior to start).
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS required.
• Pre-operative/Recovery RN, PACU, OR, and SDS certifications must be completed within one year of start date.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Trauma OR setting is required.
• Prior travel experience with one 13-week assignment is preferred.

Unit Description

This position is within a Level II Trauma Operating Room consisting of 18 operating rooms. The unit services a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics. Typical procedures include trauma, neurosurgery, robotic surgeries, urology, vascular, open hearts, general surgery, trauma orthopedic, pediatrics, minimal plastics, and ENT.

Work Environment

Work in an extremely busy and fast-paced environment, serving a 500-mile radius. The facility is certified as a Level II trauma center and is equipped to handle a high volume of emergency room and trauma cases annually.
