This position performs various tasks independently or in coordination with a tradesman. Key responsibilities include semi-skilled mechanical, electrical, plumbing and construction functions, as well as maintenance and preventive maintenance functions. Tasks may be assigned depending on the workers training and skill capabilities. Independent judgment is required for handling details of each job.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and compliant environment by following fire, emergency, evacuation, PPE, lockout/tagout, lifting, machine-guarding, and other applicable safety procedures; proactively identify and address environmental and workplace hazards.
• Support emergency and operational coverage by participating in required on-call rotations, responding to unscheduled facility emergencies, and working additional or adjusted hours when necessary to meet operational needs.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, installation, and repair activities on facility systems and equipment, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, medical gas, fixtures, furniture, filters, and other assigned equipment within established scope and competency.
• Support facility operations and department needs by maintaining tools, equipment, supplies, and inventory; assisting Facilities team members with assigned work; moving furniture and equipment; and completing other facility-related duties as needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and regulatory compliance by using hospital information and work-order systems to enter and retrieve maintenance data, complete assigned preventive-maintenance and inspection requirements, and support timely completion of applicable regulatory and accreditation activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

• HS Diploma OR equivalent experience
• Minimum of one year experience as a handyman helper or laborer in mechanical or construction trades. This includes the ability to perform all types of maintenance and minor construction functions and should understand the terminology.

Physical Requirements:

• This position requires the ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Requirements also include climbing, bending, and the ability to get into tight spaces while working off a ladder.

Location and Travel Requirements:

• Location: Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services Residential Campus- 6621 NYS Route 227, Trumansburg, NY 14886
• Shift: 8am - 4pm, rotating weekends and holidays
• Travel: 25% travel may be expected in this role if requested to assist at other locations

Pay Range Disclosure:

Standard rate of $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
