Position Summary : 

The Tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood, Home Visiting Home Visitor is responsible for providing support, guidance, and resources to families in the tribal community. The Tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood, Home Visiting Home Visitor conducts regular home visits to establish rapport, assess needs, and delivers culturally responsive services, offers child development guidance, helps strengthen parenting skills, and facilitates access to community resources, and maintains accurate records and documentation, collaborates with program staff and partners, and actively contributes to the overall success of the Tribal Home Visiting Program.The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, a deep understanding of tribal culture, and the ability to work effectively with diverse families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Schedule and conduct regular home visits. 
2. Establish rapport and maintain positive relationships with families. 
3. Create a safe and supportive environment that encourages open communication and trust. 
4. Conduct comprehensive assessments of families' strengths, challenges, and goals. 
5. Respect and integrate tribal and cultural practices, values, and beliefs into service delivery. 
6. Develop a deep understanding of the tribal community and its resources. 
7. Adapt interventions and strategies to ensure they align with the cultural context of each family. 
8. Help strengthen parenting skills. 
9. Educate parents and caregivers on age-appropriate child development milestones. 
10. Provide information on nurturing and responsive caregiving techniques. 
11. Promote early literacy, healthy nutrition, and positive parenting practices. 
12. Connect families with available resources and services within the tribal community. 
13. Build relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and social service agencies. 
14. Complete required documentation and data collection, including assessment forms and progress reports. 
15. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data collection policies and procedures. 
16. Attend regular clinical supervision meetings to discuss families' progress and share insights. 
17. Collaborate with other Tribal Home Visitors and program staff to provide holistic services.

9. Experience with delivering evidence-based parenting programs to promote effective discipline strategies, problem-solving skills, and nurturing caregiving techniques. 
10. Ability to support parents in creating safe and stimulating home environments for their children. 
11. Ability to assist families in accessing community resources and services that meet their specific needs. 
12. Ability to collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and social service agencies to ensure families have access to essential support. 
13. Experience with maintaining accurate and confidential records of home visits, assessments, and progress reports. 
14. Ability to collect and analyze data to monitor program outcomes and identify areas for improvement. 
15. Ability to adhere to program policies and procedures related to documentation and evaluation. 
16. Ability to collaborate effectively with program staff, tribal leaders, and community partners. 
17. Ability to actively participate in team meetings, share insights and knowledge and work collaboratively to provide holistic services to families. 

Requirements:

1. Possess a Valid California Driver License and be insurable with the Tule River Indian Health Center Inc. insurance agency throughout employment. 
2. Must pass pre-employment drug & alcohol screen, pre-employment physical, and background.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of tribal communities, culture, and values. 
4. Experience working with children and families in a home-based setting. 
5. Familiarity with child development principles, early childhood education, and parenting practices. 
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations. 
7. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. 
8. Respect for confidentiality and ethical standards. 
9. Proficiency in basic computer skills for documentation purposes. 
10. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. 
11. Experience working with a home visiting or early childhood development program. 
12. Knowledge of tribal communities, culture, and values, with experience working with tribal populations. 

Education and/or Experience: 

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. 2 years previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

1. Must have a valid California driver’s license, a good driving record, and the ability to be insurable with the Tule River Indian Health Center Inc. insurance agency throughout employment.

2. First Aid/BLS/CPR certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Physical Work Environment : The description provided here is representative of those conditions in which the Tribal Maternal Infant And Early Childhood Home Visiting Home Visitor will be required to perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the Tribal Maternal Infant And Early Childhood Home Visiting Home Visitor is situated in a standard office environment within the health center, which there is little or no exposure to variations in the weather or other similar elements. Tribal Maternal Infant And Early Childhood Home Visiting Home Visitor will move throughout the health center to meet with supervisors and co-workers but maintains limited direct patient/client contact. Maternal and Child Health Program Coordinator/Manager:

1. Possess the mobility to work in a standard office setting (i.e. walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time); 
2. Possess the ability to use standard office equipment to write, type, copy, fax, or perform other duties. 
3. Possess the strength to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 10 lbs., repeatedly and/or up to 25 lbs. intermittently.
4. Possess the visual acuity to read printed materials and a computer screen for long periods of time; and
5. Demonstrate hearing and speech capabilities that allow him/her to communicate and translate in person and over the telephone effectively as required.

The clinical setting at TRIHCI is categorized by OSHA as a Blood-borne Pathogen facility. Consequently, there exists the potential for exposure to blood, body fluid/tissue, and infectious wastes. There also exists the potential for exposure to chemicals, biologicals, and toxicants found on-site.
