Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working as a Special Education Teacher in a Resource Specialist Program (RSP) setting, with a focus on early childhood education. This position is situated near the Canyon Country area and is ideal for professionals who have a passion for supporting young learners as they begin their educational journey.
In this role, you'll work exclusively with a PreK caseload of approximately 5-6 students, ensuring each child receives individualized attention and assessments tailored to their needs. The primary responsibility involves completing PreK assessments—no ongoing classroom management is required—allowing you to focus on identifying and championing each student’s unique strengths and support requirements.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credential
- Experience with early childhood or PreK students, particularly in special education
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills
- Knowledge of IEP development and compliance
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to the needs of young children
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive PreK assessments for students in the RSP program
- Develop and recommend appropriate interventions and supports
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, service providers, and families
- Complete required documentation and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school and district policies
