Truck Loader Lead

Job Description

The Truck Loader Lead serves as the lead operator and subject matter expert for truck loading operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate loading of customer shipments. This role coordinates daily loadout activities with transportation and production teams, monitors loading performance, troubleshoots operational issues, and promotes compliance with company safety, quality, and shipping standards. This role also supports preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and continuous improvement efforts while providing guidance to the loadout team.

Responsibilities

Lead and support daily loadout operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely shipment of materials.

Coordinate with transportation and production teams to optimize loading activities.

Guide truck movement using radios, hand signals, and/or electronic signaling systems.

Monitor operations, identify potential safety hazards or operational issues, and take corrective action as needed.

Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic equipment maintenance.

Clean work areas by removing debris, spilled material, and maintaining housekeeping standards.

Participate in daily safety meetings and conduct thorough shift change handoffs.

Complete shipping documents, inspection records, and other required paperwork accurately.

Communicate effectively with crew members to coordinate daily activities and maintain production goals.

Follow all company safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.

Assist with other operational and maintenance tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

One year of mining, manufacturing, warehouse, or similar industrial experience preferred.

Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) knowledge preferred.

Forklift experience preferred.

Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company software.

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Strong communication, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, climb stairs and ladders, work from elevated platforms, and safely use hand tools.
