Commercial Loan Assistant I - Out Of Market

Job Summary: Responsible for providing loan support, and highly skilled administrative and clerical support to the Commercial Lending department.Education: A minimum of the following education/experience is required:High School diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in banking and/or related field.Associate Degree and 1 year experience in banking and/or related filedJob Specific Responsibilities:Performs administrative support duties to include preparing reports and documents, mailing correspondence, filing, copying, and scanning.Answers incoming telephone calls, resolve customer inquiries within prescribed authority, and when necessary directs calls to the appropriate loan officer or department.Serves as primary contact and provides administrative assistance to commercial loan officer(s).Develops new personal and commercial accounts to help enhance the Bank’s portfolio.Performs loan processing duties for commercial, real estate, and consumer loans to include:Obtaining applicant credit historyPreparing loan documentationClosing and funding loansPreparing general ledger entriesReviewing and processing all loan technical exceptionsFollowing up on and processing all loan technical exceptionsDealing with Bank attorney and personnel at title companies for real estate closingsAssisting customers in reviewing and researching loan and account historiesAccepting loan paymentsAssisting with the collection of past due loans by making telephone calls, sending past due letters, and calling on past due customersMonitoring and updating new and used floor plansRemaining knowledgeable of loan documentationPreparing loan advance request forms and advancesPrepares and logs loan maintenance to be sent to Loan Operations.Prepares loan checklists, CRA’s, and logging loans to be sent to Loan Operations.Processes NSFs, including calling customers on overdrawn accounts.Assists in the preparation of LARs on lines of credit for all commercial/real estate officers.Assists the Commercial Loan Department with LARs on a daily basis.Participates in an on-going comprehensive training program to maintain awareness of compliance regulations.Complies with Bank Secrecy Act and with operating controls and procedures; accountable for compliance with applicable consumer laws and regulations.Other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:Strong computer skillsStrong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Word and ExcelExcellent customer serviceExcellent verbal and written communicationAttention to detailProblem solvingDecision makingTime managementPrioritize effectivelyPerform multiple tasks simultaneouslyExpectations of an Employee (Values):Treating all customers and fellow employees with respectExceeding customer expectationsConsistently meeting customer needsConducting interactions with honest, ethical, and strong moral principlesTreating everyone with respectPerforming at the highest levelTaking responsibility for actionsDoing what is expectedLeading by exampleWorking as a teamEfficiently sharing information in a collaborating and proactive mannerSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneAmount of Travel: NonePhysical Requirements:May need to sit/stand for long periods of timeSustained visual concentration while working at the computerTyping on a keyboard for long periods of timeHandle high stress environmentMaintain professional appearanceIt is the policy of FirstBank Southwest to provide equal opportunity employment (EOE) to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
