Substitute Custodian

Summary We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Substitute Custodian. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our facilities. As a substitute, you will step in as needed to support the regular custodial staff, ensuring that all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing various areas of the facility. Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with safety and environmental regulations. Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring they are well-stocked with necessary supplies. Assist in maintaining outdoor areas by picking up litter and ensuring walkways are clear and safe. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel. Follow established cleaning schedules and protocols, adapting as necessary based on specific needs. Support event setups and breakdowns as required. Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and efficient cleaning operation. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work is a plus but not required. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness. Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move objects as needed. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies is preferred. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Flexibility to work on short notice and adapt to varying schedules.
