Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The competent Nurse, practicing in a clinical setting, independently demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, establishing long-range goals or plans, and effectively managing contingencies in clinical nursing. The Nurse will also make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers to effectively manage the clinical environment.

Responsibilities

Meet expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families based on their level of practice.
Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medication information, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and available resources.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
- BLS certification via AHA required.
- RN License in state of employment or compact.

Work Schedule

Shifts are from 7 AM to 7 PM, with opportunities for either 36 or 48 hours per week guarantees. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.

Nurse/Patient Ratio

The Nurse/Patient ratio will be 5:1 or 6:1.

Dress Code

Ceil blue scrubs are required as part of the professional dress code.

Electronic Medical Record System

The EMR used in this role is Epic.
