Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $2,286 per week

Job Summary Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Washington, District of Columbia. Position Details Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/15/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hour nights Employment Type: Travel Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification Preferred Qualifications AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Functions Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing Required Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel with a positive attitude and professionalism Technical/motor skills: grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures or using equipment Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with the general public, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally, and maintain concentration to detail Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication Benefits Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first‑day coverage Paid time off (PTO) after 1,560 hours Life and short‑term disability offered 401(k) matching Aggressive refer‑a‑friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs *Fusion is an EOE/E-Verify Employer Fusion Medical Staffing - Nursing Job ID #1922022.
