Make a difference supporting students as a dedicated Special Education Teacher in a middle school setting. This contract opportunity is designed for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about working with students who have significant support needs. The assignment runs from now through the end of May, with a consistent 40-hour weekly schedule.

You’ll be working with a small caseload of 6th-8th graders, focusing your expertise where it’s needed most. The classroom setting is structured to provide intensive, individualized support, ensuring that each child receives tailored instruction to help them reach their goals.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active, valid Special Education teaching license (current documentation required with application)
  • Prior experience with middle school students preferred
  • Confidence in working with significant support needs populations
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities with colleagues, families, and support staff
  • Organizational skills to effectively manage caseload and documentation

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for a caseload of five students
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to fit each learner’s unique needs
  • Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
  • Maintain comprehensive records, progress reports, and compliance documentation
  • Facilitate family communication and collaborate for student success
  • Support a classroom environment that encourages growth, safety, and inclusion

This role offers a predictable schedule: Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:40 am to 3:50 pm, with Wednesdays starting at 9:40 am.
