Acquisition Specialists – Space Systems Title: Acquisition Specialists – Space Systems. In this role, you will work within KBR’s National Security Solutions team, providing high‑end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. Your work will have a profound impact on protecting our national security. This is a contingent position based upon contract award. Responsibilities Provide expert advice to Government Program Managers and Senior Space Force leadership regarding acquisition strategies, contracting, budgeting, and program execution. Expertise in software acquisition within the DoD, including classified ACAT‑like space control systems. Offer strategic approaches for developing documentation required to support Defense Acquisition Boards. Highly knowledgeable in developing and coordinating all activities and documentation required to support source selections. Demonstrated experience with Air Force contracting and Air Force financial management. Support ongoing and emerging program acquisitions. Provide expertise in schedule management of DoD space programs. Serve as a strategic problem solver for the Government and refine acquisition strategies. Identify program execution issues and provide solution recommendations. Draft presentation materials, status briefings, and strategic communication inputs. Perform analyses of program business cases and risk assessments. Provide actionable recommendations to Government Program Managers. Develop and collaborate on acquisition planning briefings and documents (AoA, ASP, ASD, J&A, etc.). Develop and collaborate on solicitation planning and execution documents (RFPs, SOWs, CDRLs, Incentive Plans, etc.). Draft technical evaluations and function as advisor in Source Selections as requested by the Government. Required Qualifications Active TS clearance, SCI‑eligible. Bachelor’s Degree in a related science field (e.g., systems engineering, software engineering). Minimum of 5 years of applicable job experience for mid‑level positions; minimum of 10 years for senior positions. Knowledgeable in Air Force contracting, schedule management of DoD contracts, and Air Force financial management. Able to organize and conduct ACAT‑like technical design reviews and audits. Experience developing, updating, and coordinating ACAT‑like program documentation. Amenable to being nominated for access to Special Access Programs (SAP). Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a related science field. Understanding of Program Management of ACAT I through ACAT III programs. Previously served as an evaluator/advisor on at least one Source Selection. Experience with generative AI tools. Experience with Confluence and JIRA SAP. Certifications DAWIA/APDP Program Management Level III. Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Program Management Professional (PgMP). Proficient in CCaR and MS Project software. Locations Los Angeles (El Segundo), CA (preferred). Colorado Springs, CO. Schedule Scheduled weekly hours: Compensation Base salary: $110,000 – $217,000 annually (California) or $100,000 – $198,000 annually (Colorado). Salary is based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and internal parity. Additional compensation may include bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation per internal policy or contractual designation, including sign‑on bonus, relocation benefits, short‑term incentives, long‑term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
