Join Our Team as a Controls Proposal/Estimator! Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is looking for a Controls Proposal/Estimator to join our Body-in-White team in Auburn Hills, Michigan. What you’ll get to do Prepare complete controls engineering and controls build cost estimates for all related electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, logic, programming, and designs according to customer specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather essential information, guaranteeing alignment with project scopes. Attend strategic customer and internal meetings to fully grasp each project’s nuances, driving the success of our project proposals and costing. Coordinate with lead mechanical proposal estimator to develop proposed system controls architecture templates. Coordinate with the purchasing team to obtain component pricing and maintain a current supplier cost database in SAP. Assist in developing new products, existing product improvements, and standards in proposal and costing. Line‑up controls design sources to obtain competitive design quotes if required. Maintain tracking of all engineering changes using internal database. What we are looking for Experience: In cost estimating and authoring written proposals for controls relative to automation and assembly systems. A background in controls and machine tool build is an asset. Qualifications: A degree/diploma in an applied technology (Mechanical or Electrical) or proven experience as a proposal and estimator in controls. Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills, strong understanding of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic logic, programming and design controls in automation, extensive knowledge in Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC Controls, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining high attention to detail and strong ability to adapt to changing project requirements and customer needs. Customer‑Focused Mindset: Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into competitive proposals. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment within various departments. Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, with the ability to travel outside of the United States.
