Job Description:
Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced Med Surg RN to provide observation and inpatient care. Responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, monitoring, documentation, patient education, and collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments, care planning, nursing interventions, and reassessments.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen, blood products, and other treatments.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and changes in patient condition; report abnormalities promptly.
- Maintain accurate Cerner EHR documentation and use Care Compass for care coordination.
- Educate patients and families on treatment, medications, discharge, and follow-up care.
- Follow SBAR, infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality standards.
- Support teamwork, mentoring, and continuity of patient care.
Requirements:
- Strong Med Surg/acute-care nursing experience.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform physical patient-care duties, including lifting and repositioning patients.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience required.
- Previous traveler experience required.
- Cerner EHR/EMR experience required.
- Graduate of an accredited RN program required.
- Current Colorado RN license, or ability to obtain required licensure, in good standing.
- Current AHA BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification (preferred)
- Current PALS certification (preferred)
- Basic computer skills and electronic health record experience required.
