The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for building, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting single-stage and progressive stamping dies. This role supports production by ensuring tooling performs efficiently and meets quality standards. Responsibilities
- Build, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot single-stage and progressive dies.
- Perform tooling modifications and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Set up and operate manual machine tools, including lathes, mills, surface grinders, and shapers.
- Fabricate and repair precision die components.
- Inspect tooling and completed work using precision measuring instruments.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, alignments, and clearances.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve tooling issues.
- Follow all company safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of Tool & Die experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience building, repairing, and maintaining single-stage and progressive stamping dies.
- Proficient operating manual machine tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Apprenticeship, vocational, or technical training in Tool & Die preferred.
- Strong blueprint reading, GD&T, troubleshooting, and precision measurement skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
