Position and Compensation Operations Manager – Full Time, Walnut Creek, California (Zip 94597). Total base pay range $83,000 – $119,000. AvalonBay Communities is searching for a Community Manager, a true industry leader who will spearhead our office operations, set new standards for quality, and ensure our residents experience nothing short of luxury living. Overall management of an apartment community or group of communities. Oversee all aspects of office operations, from leasing and resident relations to partnering with maintenance teams. Ensure financial performance goals are met. Create a better place to live and a top place to work through leadership and positive relationships. Foster positive relationships with residents; address concerns and resolve issues promptly. Enforce lease agreements and community policies consistently and fairly. Organize and manage resident events and initiatives to promote a sense of community. Prepare and manage the property's budget, including revenue, expenses, and capital improvements. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; bachelor’s degree preferred. 5+ years of multi-family or related property management experience. Equivalent experience in retail and/or hospitality property management. 2+ years of people management experience. Experience managing community operations, including financial performance, customer service, communications, marketing, negotiation, crisis management, and staffing. Proficiency in using data/reports to develop solutions for high standards of customer service, optimal revenue generation, and effective expense management. Demonstrated ability to resolve resident issues. Experience supporting and developing subordinates; providing feedback and coaching that improve performance. Professional judgment with composure. Contract management with third‑party service providers.
