Staff Nurse I

The Staff Nurse I supports the daily operations of the Highlands Plaza Allergy & Immunology clinic, providing specialized outpatient nursing care and ensuring an exceptional patient experience. Responsibilities include patient rooming, administering allergy injections, biologics, and vaccines; performing skin, patch, drug, and venom testing; assisting with drug challenges and desensitization procedures; conducting spirometry testing; and supporting overall clinic workflow. This full-time position offers an excellent work-life balance with a MondayFriday schedule (7:45 a.m.4:30 p.m.) and no weekends, holidays, nights, or on-call requirements.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care.
• Provides patient care, which may include administering medication, performing procedures and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice.
• Provides appropriate counsel and education to patients/families regarding disease process and symptom management.
• Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information.
• Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assists the health care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills and other processes related to direct patient care.
• Maintains required skills and competencies and participates in educational programs, staff meetings and in services such as CPR as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with Compact Act.
• Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $99,900.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
