Responsibilities

The Evening Charge Nurse provides leadership and oversight of a 13-operating-room department during the evening shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. Key responsibilities include managing staffing assignments, coordinating case flow and room utilization, overseeing add-on and emergency surgeries, facilitating communication among surgeons, anesthesia, PACU, Sterile Processing, and nursing staff, and addressing operational issues that arise throughout the shift. The role serves as a clinical resource for staff, promotes patient safety and regulatory compliance, monitors throughput and turnover times, manages resource availability, and ensures continuity of operations while supporting staff development and maintaining a positive team environment.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Must have graduated from a nursing program.
• One (1) Year of OR nursing experience in a hospital setting is required.
• Current License in the state of Georgia as a registered nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
• BLS and ACLS Certification is required. Must obtain certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• Two (2) or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
• Demonstrated clinical competency.
