Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care within a cardiac stepdown unit as part of a multidisciplinary team. Focuses on patient assessment, care planning, and continuous evaluation to ensure optimal outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health status through interviews, physical exams, and observation to identify actual problems and outcomes.
• Develop individualized, evidence-based care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Implement directed interventions, monitor patient progress, and modify care plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
• Accurately document patient information, clinical interventions, and progress, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Demonstrate professional accountability by pursuing ongoing education, maintaining current skills, and troubleshooting equipment as needed.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care by collaborating with team members, utilizing resources, and promoting patient safety through proper equipment use.

Qualifications:

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience in a clinical setting.
• Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English.
• Proficient in basic computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web platforms.
• Strong critical thinking and independent judgment skills to make timely, effective decisions.
• Multicultural sensitivity and excellent communication skills for effective patient and team interactions.
