This person will be involved in a project from the beginning-visiting the site, identifying problems, helping develop repair solutions, preparing engineering documents, working with contractors, and helping make sure the work is completed properly.
This is a good opportunity for an engineer who wants to gain experience in both engineering and construction rather than spending all of their time doing calculations or office-based design work.

- How the repair should be performed
You may need to research building codes, construction standards, manufacturers' requirements, and appropriate repair methods.
3. Prepare Engineering DocumentsYou will help prepare and review:
- Repair drawings
- Engineering reports
- Construction documents
- Technical specifications
- Permit documents
- Bid documents
- Project specifications
The documents need to be clear and practical so that contractors can understand and execute the work correctly.
4. Work With Contractors and Other ProfessionalsYou will communicate with:
- Building owners/clients
- Contractors
- Architects
- Other engineers
- Consultants
- Internal team members
You may also review contractor questions, drawings, material information, and other project documents.
5. Monitor ConstructionDuring construction, you may visit the site to check whether the work is being performed according to the approved plans and specifications.
You may also:
- Attend project meetings
- Review contractor submissions
- Respond to RFIs/questions
- Perform inspections
- Document construction progress
- Identify problems and help resolve them
You will help keep projects organized and on track, including:
- Project schedules
- Budgets
- Communication
- Quality
- Client expectations
- Contractor coordination
You may work on multiple projects at the same time, so strong organization is important.
