Operations Manager

Overview Mt. Wheeler is seeking a skilled Operations Manager to lead our distribution electric utility operations department and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service to our members and employees. This leadership role is part of the Senior Executive Team and plays a key role in the success of the organization through strategic planning and daily operations. This position directs the cooperative safety program, ensuring a safe work environment and culture. Responsibilities Lead the distribution electric utility operations department and drive safe, reliable, and efficient service for members and employees. Oversee strategic planning and daily operations as a member of the Senior Executive Team. Direct the cooperative safety program to maintain a safe work environment and culture. Qualifications High school diploma with additional technical training in the electrical industry. Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical utility safety, operations, construction and maintenance, or project management. Strong knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution systems; familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC), National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and OSHA regulations. Understanding of equipment standards, specifications, and utility operations; proficiency with relevant software and information systems. High ethical standards; strong organizational and problem-solving abilities; effective communication skills capable of representing the organization at high levels. Ability to motivate teams with a forward-thinking mindset and a focus on continuous improvement. Pass a drug test and physical examination. Applicant must hold a current valid driver’s license; a Nevada commercial driver’s license Class A endorsement must be acquired within 120 days of employment.
