Galesburg MLT/MLS – Eligible for $21,000 Sign‑On Bonus Department: Laboratory – Full‑time – 1st Shift, 80‑ft; Hours varied; Monday‑Friday. This position requests a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician (MLS/MLT). The MLS/MLT performs various moderate to high complexity laboratory testing and conducts routine, urgent, and STAT tests for diagnosis and treatment of disease, following standards and practices under the College of American Pathology (CAP). Responsibilities Perform moderate to high complexity laboratory tests, following CAP standards. Conduct routine, urgent, and STAT tests for patient diagnosis and treatment. Ensure validity and accuracy of test results in a safe environment. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies; report any deviations. Receive guidance from department supervisors and report to the Laboratory Administrative Director with oversight from the Laboratory Medical Director. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; includes coursework meeting ASCP or AMT certification requirements. For new graduates: provide degree/transcripts within 12 weeks of hire. Medical Laboratory Scientist (AMT or ASCP) certification within 1 year. Medical Technologist (AMT or ASCP) certification within 1 year. One year of full‑time clinical laboratory experience to acquire AMT or ACSP certification or completion of a Medical Sciences program. Current certification verified upon hire; continuing education per ASCP/AMT required. Benefits Cost of living adjustment every July. Financial assistance and loan forgiveness may be available.
