Primary City/State: Thompson Peak Medical Center – 7400 E Thompson Peak Pkwy Scottsdale, AZ 85255 Category: Food Service | Shift: Day | Department: Food Services | Full Time – Mornings 5:30‑2:00pm and 6‑2:30pm varied days Responsibilities Cook all cafeteria and catering food and all therapeutic prescribed and regular diets, including preparation of pureed, salt‑free, mechanical soft, renal, and ADA restricted diets. Prepare entrees, vegetables, starches, sauces, soups, pull daily stock and serve on patient tray line. Operate all kitchen equipment such as ovens, choppers, mixers, blenders, grills, brazier, turbo chef, range, steamer, food processor, fryer, slicer, infrared broiler and knives. Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils; maintain sanitary levels throughout the food‑preparation process. Document food temperature checks and refrigeration unit checks on the appropriate log forms. Plan and implement cooking process so foods are ready at required times and meet quality, freshness, taste, and appearance standards. Ensure equipment and utensils are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and safe operation. Review forecast tally for production count, adjust for census, and verify supply items issued from storeroom; requisition additional items as needed. Assist and direct other Food Service Workers as required. Education Less than high school required. Technical training, diploma, degree, vocational or specialized training preferred. Experience Related experience in a food service or culinary setting preferred. Licenses & Certifications Food Handlers Card – certification required upon hire.
