Certified Medical Assistant - Pediatrics

Novant Health Pediatrics After Hours Poplar Tent is seeking a PRN Certified Medical Assistant for their after hours clinic. Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday 5:00pm‑9:00pm Saturday/Sunday 10:00am‑6:00pm – 16 hours/month The role of the CMA is to coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe, quality‑and‑cost‑effective service and care for the people within the practice population. What You’ll Do Administer vaccines safely and accurately Perform point‑of‑care testing, including lab tests and ID Now procedures Room patients and prepare them for provider visits Obtain and document vital signs What We’re Looking For Education: High School or GED, required. Candidates must provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries, including: CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement. Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Driver’s License (Palliative Care Only), required. Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department‑specific skills validation and competency testing.
