Registered Nurse, Operating Room- Per Diem

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Operating rooms cater to our busy inpatient and emergent surgical needs across dozens of surgical specialties. Recent OR expansions mean the most updated and advanced surgical equipment including a dedicated hybrid room, Da Vinci Robotics room, and renovated team spaces. The OR offers a fast-passed, high-skill, collaborative work environment where you will work in all surgical service specialties with highly trained teammates. As an RN, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Position: Registered Nurse,

Department: Operating Room, BMC Brighton

Schedule: Per Diem

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

• Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients

• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families

• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues

• Update and manage patient records

• Enter and interpret computerized data/information

• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization

• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

• Certification in basic life support (BLS)

• CNRO certification (preferred)

• Advanced Cardiac Life support ( ACLS) certification (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years' operating room experience required

• 3 years preferred

• Must be experienced in a circulating role

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities

• Basic computer proficiency

• Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range:
$39.02- $90.05
This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
