About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief of Police to oversee the management of its Public Safety Department, including police and security programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the professional enforcement of laws and ordinances, maintaining public peace and safety, directing major crime scene investigations, and handling citizen complaints. This role also involves community policing, assessing safety risks, and managing police and security personnel. The Chief of Police will be expected to develop and manage the department's budget, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and represent the department at various meetings. Applicants for the Chief of Police position at the company must have a High School Diploma or GED, with 90 college credits or a degree in Criminal Justice. A valid Oregon driver’s license and basic CPR/First Aid certification are required. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in law enforcement, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role. Knowledge of tribal, federal, and state criminal, traffic, and civil laws is essential, as is the ability to make independent decisions and foster an inclusive workplace. The role demands excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse cultures. A background in a tribal police department and advanced law enforcement training are preferred.
