Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury is a one-of-a-kind state of the art Skilled Nursing Facility located in Lake Katrine 5 minutes off of exit 19 on the New York State Thruway. Northeast Center offers programs not found in any other nursing home in the region.

Responsibilities:
- Ability to understand basic cooking terms and practices and adhere to kitchen regulations and sanitation practices (Serv Safe a plus!)
- Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
- Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
- Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
- Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
- Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and specials diet orders.
- Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident’s meal tray.
- Review care plans to assure that current dietary information is consistent with foods served.
- Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Prior industrial/commercial kitchen/cook experience
- Able to read, write and understand English
- Dependable, adaptable to change and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Accurate and organized
- Full-Time 37.5 hours/week (including alternate Saturdays and Sundays)
- Able to work overtime or flexible shifts when needed.
Compensation:
- Rate will be commensurate with experience.
