Atlantic Region CBO Patient Access SpecialistThe Atlantic Region Central Billing Office (ARCBO) or (CBO) provides business office services including billing, collections, cash posting, pre-access management, variance, and customer service to our affiliated Universal Health Services hospitals. The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Patient Access Specialist. The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for taking inbound calls, making outbound calls, timely and accurately scheduling and pre-registering patients in the SMS and Cerner systems. The Patient Access Specialist will also be responsible for attempting to collect co-pays and deductibles from patients at the time of pre-registration. This position is also responsible for interpreting managed care contracts; Medicare regulations; medical and anatomy terminology and applying the knowledge to the scheduling and registration process.Key responsibilities include:Perform scheduling, pre-registration and if needed insurance verification within 24 hours of receipt of reservation/notification for both inpatient and outpatient servicesContact physician to resolve issues regarding prior authorization or referral formsResearch patient visit history to ensure compliance with the Medicare 72 hour rule and complete the Medicare Secondary payer questionnaire and ABN as applicableContact patient in a timely and courteous manner to confirm or obtain missing demographic information in Invision PDIX, quote/collect patient payment and instruct patient on where to present at time of appointmentPerform electronic eligibility confirmation utilizing HDX and calling insurances when necessaryWork with facility departments and internal departments of the CBO to investigate and resolve issues associated with patient or insurance company inquiriesAct as a liaison to the hospital departments in resolving issues and documenting accordinglyImplements and follows system downtime procedures when necessaryOther duties as assignedBenefit highlights:Challenging and rewarding work environmentCompetitive compensation & generous paid time offExcellent medical, dental, vision and prescription drug plans401(K) with company match and discounted stock planSoFi student loan refinancing programCareer development opportunities within UHS and its 300+ subsidiaries!About Universal Health Services:One of the nation's largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services, Universal Health Services, Inc.
