Teller - Float

About the Role As the first point of contact for most clients, the Teller‑Float is responsible for ensuring all banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and banking regulations. The role also requires traveling within a geographic area to cover branches needing staffing support. Responsibilities Perform teller transactions and cash handling functions with accuracy and confidentiality (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing, and management of the cash drawer). Support daily branch tasks to maintain branch integrity, such as double‑custody ATM balancing, night‑drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, processing returned mail, balancing credit‑card machines, and updating lobby rate sheets and brochures. Mitigate risk by ensuring safekeeping of cash in the drawer and prompt accounting or transfer of funds. Travel within the assigned geographic area to cover branches that require temporary staffing. Interact with external and internal clients, anticipate needs, provide proactive solutions, and resolve problems in line with the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. Continuously deepen knowledge of Columbia Bank’s product and service offerings and stay current on changes. Discuss and uncover customers’ financial needs to identify and offer appropriate products and services. Support branch referral goals by identifying and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. 1 year of previous banking or customer‑service experience preferred. Bilingual preferred. Ability to learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and verbal and written instructions. Consistently demonstrates the ability and willingness to build relationships with clients and fellow bank associates. Pay The pay range for this role is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. Location Primary location: 3235 E Mullen Road, Post Falls, ID 83854. Ability to work fully on‑site at the posted location(s).
