ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.

Perform a variety of determinations on different bodily fluids such as pregnancy test, urinalysis and complete blood counts; confirm and verify test results and report findings.

2.

Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.

3.

Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.

4.

Collect body fluids and materials such as urine, blood and throat cultures.

5.

Perform and review quality control in testing; decide if results are within acceptable ranges, research problems and correct.

6.

Perform instrument maintenance.

7.

Responsible for inventory control.

8.

Perform any Calibration or QC as needed.

9.

Work effectively with others in the implementation of patient care activities.

10.

Requires ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

11.

Requires ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.

EDUCATION:

1.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science or chemical, physical or biological science preferred.

2.

Licenses

No Professional License required.

3.

Certifications

Current ASCP certified as a Medical Technician or equivalent in good standing; may be a recent graduate from an accredited program with licensure required within 6 months of hire.

4.

Experience

A minimum of three years clinical background in the discipline of laboratory department in a hospital preferred. Must have knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment and techniques of medical technology.


Full time 40 hours per week/Evenings & Nights (4 or 5 days a week; 8 or 10 hours/day)
Rotating Shifts as needed
Call Required as needed (Sun.-Sat.)
Holidays and Weekends required (every 4-5 weekend Saturday & Sunday)
