Job Title: In-Home Behavior Technician (BT) and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Location: Hartford, New Haven, Simsbury

Position Type: Full-Time (25 hours or more a week)/Part-Time (10-15 hours a week)

Compensation: Hourly rate between $18- $28 per hour (depending on experience and certifications)

Tender Hugs and Care LLC  provides evidence-based in-home ABA therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We focus on natural environment training (NET) to improve daily life skills and provide comprehensive caregiver support. As specialists in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), RBT’s are responsible for assisting behavioral analysis teams in evaluating mental health patients and their conditions over a certain time frame. Their duties include adhering to behavioral health plans developed by other mental health professionals to provide patients with beneficial care in their home. Job Responsibilities:

·      The primary duty of a BT or RBT is to implement behavior intervention plans (BIPS) designed by Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBAS).

·      This includes working directly with clients to teach new skills, reduce problem behaviors, and reinforce positive behaviors.

·      BT’s and RBT’s are responsible for collecting data during each session to monitor the progress and so that adjustments to treatment plans as needed.

·      BT’s and RBT’s also collaborate with other memebrs of the treatment team includeing BCBA’s, speech therapists, occupational therapists and educators.

·      Communicate regularly with the team to ensure seamless and effective support

·      Adhere to BACB ethical guidelines in all interactions.

Experience and Qualifications:

•    High School Diploma

•    Registered Behavior Technician Certification (if not an RBT must begin the process within 90 days of hire date)

·      At least 18 years old

·      Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disorders

·      Familiarity with ABA principles and techniques

·      Strong observational and analytical skills

·      Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

·      Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

·      CPR and First Aid Certification (optional)

·      Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude

·      Flexibility in work schedule

·      Basic proficiency with data collection software or apps

·      Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field

·      Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities

·      Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·      Ability to work collaboratively with a team

·      Strong organizational and time-management skills

·      Passion for helping individuals with special needs reach their full potential
