Med Mal Defense Litigation Senior Associate

Senior Litigation Associate 
Location: Concord, NH (Hybrid Schedule)
Salary: $115K-$130K base

A respected New Hampshire litigation practice is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Associate to join its medical malpractice defense team. This position offers the opportunity to represent physicians, hospitals, healthcare systems, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare professionals in complex professional liability matters throughout New Hampshire.

Responsibilities

• Defend healthcare providers and institutions in medical malpractice and professional liability matters.
• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation-related documents.
• Take and defend depositions, including those of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
• Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, causation, and damages issues.
• Participate in court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and arbitrations.
• Collaborate with medical experts and consultants to prepare defense strategies.
• Prepare witnesses and clients for deposition, mediation, and trial.
• Assist with trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
• Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and responsiveness.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New Hampshire Bar or eligibility for prompt admission.
• 2+ years of litigation experience preferred, with experience in medical malpractice defense strongly desired.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong organizational and case management abilities.
• Ability to analyze complex medical records and expert testimony.
• Experience handling depositions and court appearances is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
