Medical Assistant I Certified- Cardiology Clinic (Day 40)

Requisition Information Requisition #: 668526 | Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD 21287 | Category: Medical Assistant | Schedule: Day Shift | Employment Type: Full Time Role Overview The Johns Hopkins Hospital Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively, and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The CMA functions under direct supervision and authority of the physician when performing clinical tasks during patient care. The CMA reports to the clinic manager, who is responsible for administrative supervision, staff development, and orientation of the CMA to the area's policies and procedures. The CMA maintains an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies, assists in the organization of efficient patient flow, and organizes the clinic environment to assure patient safety. The CMA participates in medication and procedure education for patients and their families by providing brochures and literature and may administer meds as ordered by provider. The CMA records care provided in patient medical record. Shift Full Time (40 hours). Day Shift, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (may vary slightly depending on location). No weekends. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program required or relevant years of experience as a medical assistant leading to certification. Licensure/Certification Completion of CMA certification with credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA required prior to hire. Valid BLS CPR certification required upon hire; JHH accepts AHA, Red Cross, and military training network. Work Experience Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of CMA experience. Prior experience in Cardiology preferred. MA program externship preferred. Compensation Salary Range: Minimum $18.08/hour - Maximum $29.87/hour.
