Household Assistant/ House Manager - Santa Fe

A wonderful family is settling into a new home in Santa Fe and is looking for a capable, grounded household professional to help bring it to life and keep it running beautifully. This is a role for someone who takes real pride in a well-ordered home, who notices what needs doing before being asked, and who wants to become a trusted, lasting part of a family's daily life.

We welcome two kinds of candidates equally. The first is the seasoned private service professional who has managed homes and households for years and knows exactly how a home should feel when it is cared for well. The second is the person who has spent decades masterfully running their own household, raising a family, and keeping a home to a standard most people only aspire to, and who is now ready to bring that same care, judgment, and warmth to a family who will deeply value it.

What matters most here is not a particular resume. It is a high standard, a steady hand, genuine warmth, and the instinct to take ownership.

What you would do

Run the home. Keep an exceptionally organized, clean, and welcoming home. Handle daily resets and ongoing tidying, build simple systems that make the household run smoothly, keep the home stocked and guest-ready, and coordinate vendors, maintenance, and repairs as needed.

Care for the dogs. The family has multiple dogs who are a true part of the household and need real attention. You would manage feeding, walks, exercise, grooming, brushing, and general well-being, keep an eye on their health and behavior, and keep their spaces clean and comfortable.

Take on projects. Help with home setup as the family moves in, take ownership of organization and improvement projects, support seasonal upkeep and outdoor and plant care where it makes sense, and help prepare the home for guests and family visits.

Support the kitchen and errands. Handle grocery shopping and provisioning, keep the pantry, refrigerator, and food storage organized, assist with light meal preparation, run errands and manage purchases and returns, and help with travel and packing readiness before and after trips.

Who thrives in this role

• Years of running a household to a high standard, whether professionally as a House Manager, Family Assistant, Estate Assistant, or similar, or through deep personal experience managing your own home with excellence

• Exceptional organization and a real eye for detail

• Confident and self-directed, comfortable taking initiative without supervision

• Genuinely comfortable around dogs and happy to provide hands-on care every day

• Warm, positive, discreet, and easy to work alongside

• Resourceful and adaptable as the household settles and evolves

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

The details

This role is intentionally flexible. The family is most interested in finding the right person and will shape the schedule around that fit. It may begin part-time during their initial rental period and grow into expanded or full-time hours as they move into their permanent home and as you demonstrate the value you bring.

Looking ahead, the family expects to divide time between Santa Fe and Austin. For the right person, that could open long-term possibilities, including caring for the Santa Fe home during travel, supporting the family in Austin, or a hybrid arrangement. This is a future possibility shaped around mutual fit, not an immediate requirement.
