Job Description

This position is located within the neuroscience unit, primarily focusing on neurology, neurosurgery, and ENT patients. The unit is equipped to handle a variety of patient conditions, including but not limited to:

• Stroke
• Seizures
• Dementia
• Neuromuscular disorders
• Head, neck, and back trauma
• Elective neurosurgeries
• Radical neck surgeries due to trauma or cancer

The unit consists of 34 beds with approximately 30.5 patients daily, including progressive telemetry and total telemetry patients. Interdisciplinary support is available, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant field
• Previous charge experience is highly valued
• Experience in telemetry required; familiarity with interpreting and managing dysrhythmias is essential
• Certification in BLS is mandatory
• EPIC charting experience is required
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) is preferred

Additional Information

Candidates may be required to float within their scope of practice as needed. Weekend coverage is essential, and two holidays will be required per contract. An orientation period of 24 hours is mandated, during which modules related to the position will be assigned and must be completed promptly.
