Family Treatment Court Coordinator

The Family Treatment Court Coordinator administers and coordinates family treatment court and juvenile drug court services for the Augusta Judicial Circuit and ensures the program's compliance with all court policies and procedures. This position is responsible for the overall coordination, management, administration and operation of family treatment and juvenile drug court programs.

Responsibilities include supervising, directing, and evaluating assigned staff; organizing and prioritizing work activities; ensuring unit compliance with program objectives; completing clinical assessments of potential program participants; coordinating and organizing program calendar; serving as liaison between court staff, treatment team, mental health professionals, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, and the public; administering program budget; performing grant research; implementing and maintaining a case management system; and performing other duties of a similar nature or level as required.

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Public Administration, Judicial Administration, Criminal Justice, or Psychology. Master's Degree or Certified Counselor is preferred.

Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience as a mid-level manager within the criminal justice and/or substance abuse treatment environment, particularly within the court environment. Two (2) or more years of management or supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Thorough knowledge of the criminal justice system, courts, and principles and techniques of office management. Familiarity with work simplification and records control processes. Experience in data processing and electronic information processing systems. Ability to operate a variety of automated office equipment. Exposure to financial procedures and standard practices. Knowledge of addiction, alcoholism, and pharmacology. HIPPA and Federal Confidentiality Rule 42 CFR regulations. Skills in effective speaking, writing, and management. Skills in negotiating which facilitates conflicts to be overcome through problem solving and consensus building. Skills in developing appropriate policies and procedures for the operation of an accountability court subject to state requirements and national best practices. Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting the Court's policies and procedures as well as state law. Be a self-motivated person who can willingly accept guidance and direction from supervisors. Skills in planning and directing the work of subordinates and contractors. Skills in seeking, planning for, writing applications for and managing grants and grant funds and responsible for all paperwork and reports related to grant funding. Ability to plan and manage a program budget of $500,000 or more. Ability to maintain an effective and confidential working relationship with associates, judges, county employees, attorneys, and the public. Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining positive customer relations.

Licensing/Certification: A valid driver's license required; satisfactory background, security, and drug examinations.

Other: Travel from office to other locations is required for this position.
