Fieldwork / Practicum Student  

At Mercy Plus, our Fieldwork/Practicum Student role is designed for individuals who are actively pursuing BCBA or BCaBA certification and completing their required fieldwork hours.

Earn $23–$25/hour while gaining hands-on ABA experience, working alongside experienced clinicians, and building the skills you’ll need to take the next step in your career.

What the Role Looks Like

As a Fieldwork/Practicum Student, you’ll work directly with clients while developing the clinical skills you’ll need as a future BCBA or BCaBA.

You’ll have opportunities to learn from experienced BCBAs, participate in supervision, and gain exposure to areas such as assessments, data analysis, treatment programming, behavior plans, caregiver collaboration, and clinical documentation as appropriate to your experience and fieldwork requirements.

The goal is to help you connect what you’re learning in your program to real clinical practice while progressing toward certification.

What You’ll Do

• Provide direct ABA services to clients
• Implement individualized treatment and behavior plans
• Collect and analyze client data
• Participate in BCBA supervision and clinical training
• Develop skills in assessment and treatment programming
• Gain exposure to behavior plan development
• Collaborate with BCBAs, technicians, families, and center leadership
• Participate in eligible supervised fieldwork activities toward certification
• Build clinical judgment and confidence as you progress toward becoming a BCBA or BCaBA

Compensation

$23–$25/hour while you build your experience

Fieldwork/Practicum Students earn $23–$25/hour while gaining hands-on ABA experience and progressing toward BCBA or BCaBA certification.

Supervised Fieldwork + Mentorship

This role is designed for students who want their work experience and their path toward certification to work together.

You’ll receive supervision and mentorship from experienced clinicians while gaining hands-on experience in a center-based ABA setting. As you progress through your fieldwork, you’ll have opportunities to develop beyond direct care and gain exposure to the responsibilities of a certified clinician.

We want to support your growth beyond fieldwork.

As you complete your required hours and move closer to certification, there may be opportunities to progress into a Clinical Assistant role , designed for team members who have completed their fieldwork and are preparing for BCBA or BCaBA certification.

After certification, there may be opportunities to transition into an available BCBA or BCaBA position with Mercy Plus.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in an applicable degree or coursework pathway toward BCBA or BCaBA certification
• Actively completing supervised fieldwork requirements
• Interest in developing advanced ABA and clinical skills
• ABA experience preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively with clients, families, technicians, and clinical leadership
• Commitment to high-quality, ethical ABA services
